Mike's Results and Race Schedule

Name: Dionis

City: Alexandria

When did you first start running: I started running in fall 2004.  Prior to that, I used to walk for exercise and wasn't very athletic.

Other Activities: I'm an attorney for the Federal Bureau of Prisons.  I do government contracts law.  I also love to read, take long walks, bake, and study foreign languages.

Goals for 2008: To run my first marathon.

What helps motivate you to train/exercise: I thought what motivated me was getting a better time, but that spoiled the enjoyment of running for me.  My new motivation is to get out there and simply enjoy running again.

Thoughts on having a coach: I like having a coach, because it helps me know when to take a break and when to push myself harder.  When I first started running, I pushed myself so hard that I ended up injured.  Prior to having Mike as a coach, I did the same running workout and didn't know anything about long runs, speed workouts, or weight training.  Now I have a more varied workout and I enjoy running more.
