Name: Doria
City: North Bethesda
Other activities: There are other activities besides swimming, biking, and running? I mean, social work,
art, rock climbing, hiking, and hanging out with my dog!
Goals in 2009: To PR at my 2nd Ironman in Florida and increase my running
and cycling efficiency along the way. I also want to learn how to fuel correctly while racing, which is very important.
What helps motivate you to train/exercise: I like keeping it fun, and meeting lots of great people who are motivated is always the highlight
of my day. And knowing that the races will be filled with more pain and suffering if I don't train properly also keeps
me motivated.
Thoughts on having a coach: It was the best idea ever, especially taking onsuch a big event like the Ironman. Coaches are good
motivators and they make sure there are no excuses for not staying on track. I don't think I would be as successful
of an athlete without one.
