Name: Elyse
City: NW DC
When did you first start running: The
track coach in my high school thought track would be a sport that I would enjoy and in which I could excel. I joined the
team, loved it from the first practice, and haven't stopped running since.
Other Activities: Volunteer with Girls On The Run program and Junior League of Washington
Goals for 2008: To run Marine Corps Marathon
again and break 3 hours, and to then prepare for Boston in 2009.
Thoughts
on having a coach: I believe that a running coach is not only important
to help you develop specific workouts for your event and help you peak at precisely the right time for your race, but to continually
push you beyond your limits. A coach will also tell you when to step back, and will be able to provide the necessary
guidance to reach your individual goals.
